Wonderings

As we work
the old man stands off to the side
in one of the cattle pens
his arms crossed, resting atop a walking stick.

I once heard that his eyes pierce
that in the deceptive quiet
his mind is whirling
calculating his next business move.

I think I see a twinkle in his eye,
the silence seems warm and friendly,
broken now and then
as he joins the conversation.

I wonder.
Perhaps I am naive
but I prefer to see
this man my friend.

Wonderful! Thank you sooo much, you've saved me from endless wandering looking for that whatever something that appeals to me! I had just about given up, I hit the "next blog" button one more time and went to start lunch. Shortly I got the urge to look - prepared to hit the next button again - and there was your poem. Concise, clear -> paints a good picture in my mind of intents and relationships, and is a set of words that go together to add up to more than the sum of their parts... hehehe - add to that a profile that just makes my estimation of the work itself go up!

If you don't mind I would like to put a link to your blog on mine (once I figure out how).

And if you get a chance or feel like it, here's my blogger addy: http://www.justinsworldnet.blogspot.com/

Hope it does something to/for/whatever you! hehehe Enjoy! (I hope)
